Engaging Environments

August 25th, 2025

1:00pm - 2:30pm

An environment is more than just a backdrop—it’s a powerful teaching partner. This session explores how thoughtful, intentional design of physical and emotional spaces can inspire curiosity, promote independence, and support meaningful interactions for children. Participants will reflect on their current environments and discover practical strategies to make spaces more inclusive, responsive, and engaging.

Caring and Responsive Relationships

August 26th, 2025

1:00pm - 2:30pm

Building and maintaining caring and responsive relationships with children, as well as their families, is fundamental to the practice of Early Childhood Educators.

Let’s come together to discuss and reflect on how we support these relationships and interactions in our programs every day.

How Does Learning Happen?

for Educators

August 27th, 2025

1:00pm - 2:30pm

Ontario's Pedagogy for the Early Years: How Does Learning Happen? connects us all as Early Childhood Educators.  Come ready to share and hear how other professionals embed HDHL? in their practice, how it supports the children in your programs and your view of children as competent and capable.

Introduction to Reflective Practice

August 28th, 2025

1:00pm - 2:30pm

Reflective practice is essential to professionalism in early childhood education. As individuals, it is a necessary means to grow, develop, refine, and evaluate what we do in our work with children and families. Becoming a “reflective practitioner” is a personal and professional journey of developing knowledge, awareness, and skills.

Inclusive Environments

August 29th, 2025

10:30am - 12:00pm

“When educators believe that all children have the right to participate and when they use inclusive approaches, they are more likely to find ways to reduce barriers, understand how each child learns, and create environments and experiences that are meaningful and engaging.” How Does Learning Happen Pg. 36
