Reframing Behaviour Through the Lens of Self-Regulation | Thursday October 23, 2025 | ||

Workshop Title: Reframing Behaviour Through the Lens of Self-Regulation Reframing allows us to pause, reflect, and ask ourselves why certain behaviours may be occurring. By viewing situations from multiple perspectives, we can reduce stress and foster supportive, trusting relationships with the children in our care.
In this interactive session, we will: · Explore the importance of Educator Self-Regulation and Wellbeing- Understanding that caring for ourselves enables us to better care for others. Reflect on behaviour as a form of communication- Gain insight into what may be happening in a child’s brain when they “flip their lid,” and how this impacts their actions.
· Discover Stuart Shanker’s 5 Steps of Self-Regulation- Learn how to become a “stress detective” by identifying and reducing stressors and reframing behaviour through a self-regulation lens. This session will provide practical strategies and a deeper understanding of behaviour, empowering educators to respond with empathy, insight, and confidence.
