Professional Learning Cancellation and No-Show Process

The Halton Resource Connection (THRC) is committed to providing quality Professional Learning for the Early Learning and Child Care Sector.

Registering for a Professional Learning session is a commitment. Not attending may prevent other community members or interested participants from attending and, may incur added material costs.

In an effort to continue to provide low cost or no cost professional learning THRC has implemented the following process.

If you are unable to attend an event, the following steps must be taken to avoid a penalty fee:

          1. No less than one week prior to the session, email:  administrativeassistant@thrc.ca with the following subject line: Substitute Professional Learning Session Attendee- Date-
          2. Identify a substitute attendee which includes email and contact information.

Fees will apply in the following scenarios:

Free Virtual and/or In-Person Sessions:

          • A $10 fee will apply to participants who registered for a session and did not attend or provide an alternate attendee.  If a substitute attendee is provided and cancels at any time, the substitute attendee will be required to pay the fee.
          • THRC’s Administrative Assistant will send an email that will include a form to make payment online.
          • Unpaid fees (outstanding for longer than 2 weeks following the session) will result in a hold on future Professional Learning registrations until payment has been received.

Paid Virtual and/or In-Person Sessions:

          • Full registration fees will be charged to participants who do not provide a minimum of 1 week notice of a cancellation or a substitute attendee.  If a substitute attendee is provided and cancels at any time, the substitute attendee will be required to pay the full registration fee.
          • THRC’s Administrative Assistant will send an email that will include a form to make payment online.
          • Unpaid fees (outstanding longer than 2 weeks following the session) will result in a hold on future Professional Learning registrations until payment has been received.
          • Cancellation requests will forfeit access to the recording of the session, where applicable.

THRC is planning our 2024 Professional Learning calendar and we want to hear from you! Submit your feedback and let us know what Professional Learning you want to see in Halton.
