Job Summary
In this role you will support seasoned educators to provide developmentally appropriate learning in a caring environment that prioritizes well-being, belonging, engagement and expression for all.

Duties & Responsibilities
Interact directly with the children, providing quality care and creative programming.
Establish and maintain positive daily communications and interactions with families.
Assist in supervising, planning and implementing a consistent child-centered program.
Work with staff team to deliver a high quality and age-appropriate programs utilizing Ontario’s Pedagogy: How Does Learning Happen?
Maintain confidentiality of information related to the center, children, families, and employees.
Adhere to all Child Care Licensing Regulations.

Skills & Qualifications
Essential:

Diploma in Early Childhood Education.
Registered by the College of Early Childhood Education.
Current Standard First Aid certification including Infant and Child CPR.
Knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014.
Strong team work, time management and communication skills.

Preferred:

Experience working with young children.
Second language and intercultural understanding.
Working in inclusive environments.

Working/ Employment Conditions
Working Conditions:

Shifts are Monday through Friday (no weekends).
Requirement to attend staff meetings and professional learning in the evenings (2 – 3 times per year).
Travel may be required between locations.
Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job.

Employment Conditions:

Incumbent will be required to provide a Police Information Check with a Vulnerable Sector Check, prior to their first day of employment.
Incumbent will be required to provide a copy of their current two-step tuberculosis test, prior to their first day of employment.
In support of the Region’s commitment to a healthy and safe workplace and community, the Region has a vaccination requirement for all employees. The successful candidate will be made an offer of employment on the condition of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and able to provide proof of vaccination. The candidate will be asked to provide the Region with proof of full vaccination, prior to their employment start date.
