Micro-Aggressions & Micro-Interventions: February 9, 2023 We will review micro-aggressions and learn how to apply micro-interventions specific to childcare through interactions with colleagues, children and their families. Will use breakout sessions to work through scenarios and opportunities to remove microaggressions and their negative impacts in your facility. Unconscious Bias Working with Children: March 2, 2023 Let’s learn more about specific unconscious bias that impacts working with children and their families. Will also review studies, research and events to support identifying and removing unconscious bias. Breakout sessions will be used to practice identifying and discussing approaches to a variety of scenarios. Feedback and Conflict Resolution: March 9, 2023 While working and interacting daily with partners, parents and colleagues, communication challenges are bound to occur. Let’s review best practices on how to communicate effectively so that we can all improve and minimize conflict or other negative impacts, especially around sensitive topics such as Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI). Breakout sessions will be incorporated to practice giving and receiving feedback and begin to get comfortable with this approach.
