Understanding Speech, Language and Communication in the Early Years August 14 & 21, 2019

Early childhood educators have a significant impact on a child’s communication development and are among the first who can recognize early speech and language difficulties. In session one, you will enhance your knowledge about communication milestones and gain an understanding of early warning signs for communication delays. This session will also include opportunities to participate in interactive case scenarios and a chance for guided practice of early speech and language facilitating strategies.

In session two, participants will have the opportunity to further explore their questions and ideas from   session one to better understand speech, language and communication in the early years. Through facilitated discussion participants will have the opportunity to ask questions, exchange ideas, contribute perspectives and make meaning of new ideas, information and resources.
