The Nature of Language: Using Nature to Foster Language Experiences | April 19, 2017 6:00pm-8:00pm |
|
A walk outdoors can spark conversations that promote rich language, yet how do educators balance the “dangers” of outdoor excursions with the benefits? This session focuses on conversations around how “outdoor classrooms” enrich language with young children (ages 1-4), how to enhance outdoor language experiences, and how to realistically use the elements of “outdoor classrooms” in a child care environment. We will use documentation from The Nature of Language program in conjunction with the How Does Learning Happen? document and segments from articles by Anne Pelo to invite discussion. | ||
