DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nThe Enduring Impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ABC
 s)\nWednesday\, May 7\, 2025\n\n\n6:30pm-8:00pm\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Adverse Chi
 ldhood Experiences (ACE) Study proved what those of us who work with child
 ren already knew: maltreatment is damaging to children. This groundbreakin
 g research revealed that ACEs are far more prevalent and have far more dam
 aging consequences we ever imaged. In this workshop\, we will explore the 
 long-term implications of ACEs on emotional and physical health to help us
  heal and prevent ACEs in our homes\, workplaces\, and communities.\nIn th
 is session\, participants will learn: ​​\n1. The ten most common types
  of childhood adversity\n\n2. The emotional and physical health outcomes a
 ssociated with adverse experiences\n\n3. The influence of community and en
 vironmental experiences on development\n\n4. What we can do to prevent and
  heal from ACEs\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFacilitated by: Kelly Smith MSW\, RSW\n\nKell
 y is a master’s level social worker and psychotherapist registered in On
 tario\, British Columbia\, and New Brunswick. She works across the age-ran
 ge\, with children\, families\, couples\, adults and elders. Kelly special
 izes in working with people with trauma\, utilizing a variety of body-cent
 red psychotherapy techniques including play\, sand tray\, bodywork\, movem
 ent\, EMDR\, and AEDP. Kelly is an experienced workshop presenter\, having
  facilitated over one hundred virtual and in-person workshops across Canad
