Hiring your professional staff is one of the most important decisions you make in your role as the Director or Supervisor, especially when you look at the potentially high costs of turnover. When it comes to interviewing potential candidates most Directors or Supervisors would agree it is a challenge to find the “right” one. The problem is that first impressions are not always right. Unfortunately, sometimes our judgment is clouded by the interviewee’s ability to dazzle us with his/her interviewing skills.   Successful “hires” means more than just filling a position; it’s about knowing how to interview so that you find the right person to fit into your team. This half day nteractive workshop will focus on: reviewing hiring/recruitment practices & documentation (including templates), what makes today’s workforce so different, successful interview practices, asking the right questions, what questions to avoid and tips on retention.
