Making Dollar & Sense of The Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC)

THRC is pleased to introduce Leadership Connections (formerly known as Supervisors’ Connection) Making Dollar & Sense of The Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC)  September 28, 2022
1:30pm-3:30pm

While regions and municipalities are supporting the implementation of the CWELCC system, organizations are struggling to determine whether to opt in or out of the program. The extension of the CWELCC deadline to November 1st is a welcome relief, providing everyone with more time to fully assess the financial implications of the CWELCC on your organization. This webinar will be looking at key financial considerations in the decision making process.

We will be joined by TJ Solutions & David Burkes C.A. IFA who has over 25 years’ of experience in auditing and accounting including in the child care sector. Most recently, David has been working with a number of municipalities in Ontario to assist organizations in better understanding the financial implications of the CWELCC.

While this session cannot provide all of the financial answers, David will help you to identify possible funding gaps, and arm you with questions you should be asking from your local Service System Manager to assist you in making your decision.

Our interactive session will focus on:

  • Discussions on how to advocate for your organization when it comes to eligible and ineligible expenses
  • Potential Pitfalls to plan for ahead of time
  • Questions to ask “how is your region planning to deal with funding gaps?”
  • What you really need in “financial reserves” in todays costs
  • Accountability & transparency

If this session is full, e-mail [email protected] to be put on the waitlist.
