Separation Worries August 7, 2019
6:00pm – 8:00pm

Children feel most safe and secure with their parents/primary caregivers, their brains have been wired from birth to feel connected to you. When they have to separate from this secure attachment their “alarm system” can become activated. This becomes what we call separation worries. The first time we often see this in children is around 8-12 months of age, and it recurs throughout life. This is a normal part of child development, although it does not look the same for all children. This session will look at what separation worries are and how to help young children cope.
