|School Age Series: Connecting with the School Age Child||November 29, 2017
10:00am – 11:30 am
|Join us for a three part school age professional learning series where we will explore the following questions together;
1) How might we connect with the school age child through the four foundations of learning, How Does Learning Happen?
2) How might we create connection in our team relationships?
There is often an “invisible dance” that educator’s exhibit when they work together naturally and in synchrony, as if they can read each other’s minds. What exactly are they doing and how do they know how to work together? Exploring team relationships and dynamics through the lens of connection allows us look inward and discover new insights and approaches to use with others.
3) How might a sense of belonging come from knowing your community, families and partners?
We as a society are tasked with having to cope and thrive in a fast-paced, techno-rushed culture that often allows little energy or opportunity for connecting with educators, community members and families in the child care setting. Could a sense of belonging to “community” help reduce the anxiety that often results in challenging relationships between educators and parents? Is it possible that a sense of community could transform the experience from isolation to connection? How might we create a sense of community in a school age setting that builds belonging and connection between families, communities and with educators?
