Part 1: A Particiatory Approach to Musculoskeletal Disorders
Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSD) results from excessive strain on the body and are the number on workplace injury in the province of Ontario, costing billions of dollars. This session is designed to provide knowledge and a participatory approach so your organization can prevent these injuries from occuring.
At the end of Part 1, participants will:

  • Identify the major risks that lead to MSD and common control strategies
  • Understand the value of the participatory approach where front line staff are involved in the recognition, assessing and controling of risks
  • Understand the steps to develop a comprehensive MSD prevention program
  • Recognize tools to help to develop your program

Part 2: A Participatory Approach to Slips, Trips and Falls
Slips, trips and falls (STF) are a common cause of injury in Ontario workplaces. Many people think these are “just accidents” that can’t be prevented. With knowledge and a participatory approach, your organization can make changes to the work environment and prevent these injuries from occuring.
At the end of Part 2, participants will:

  • Identify the major risks that lead to slips, trips and falls and the common control strategies
  • Understand the value of the participatory approach, where front line staff are involved in the recognition, assessing and controlling of risks
  • Understand the steps to developing a comprehensive slip, trip and fall prevention program for the workplace
  • Recognize tools to help to develop your program
