Loose Parts and Outdoor Play

Loose Parts and Outdoor Play

Loose Parts and Outdoor Play June 8, 2017
How do you incorporate loose parts into your program? The ‘loose parts’ theory looks at how the best play comes from things that give children the opportunity to play in many different ways and on many different levels. Loose parts promote and support imaginative play through open ended, creative expression which occurs naturally when loose parts are placed in the environment. Using them allows children opportunities to develop their own ideas and explore the world around them through self-directed play. During this workshop participants gain ideas in which loose parts could be used in various areas of the play environment. This session focuses on ideas for loose parts to be used outdoors.
