Loose Parts and Literacy | June 5, 2019 6:30pm – 8:00pm |
|
Loose parts promote and support imagination through open play, creative expression, which occurs naturally when they are placed in environments. Using loose parts allows children to develop their own ideas and explore the world around them through self-directed play.
We invite you to explore the many facets of literacy that occur naturally in your classroom, and consider how to foster all forms using loose parts. Participants are welcome to browse and interact with materials and share their own “literacy rich moments” in a conversation that seeks to generate ideas for fostering speaking, reading, writing, and making learning visible.
