Early Years Mental Health Toolkit

Early Years Mental Health Toolkit November 9,  2022
6:30pm – 8:00 pm

This session is a follow up to the Symposium. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in a panel discussion on how early experiences shape long term growth and development and how the EYMH Toolkit can help you in your practice.

The Halton Early Years Mental Health Committee (EYMHC) is a cross-sector collaboration of service providers who work with infants/young children and their families. Research has shown that significant mental health issues can and do exist in young children and tend to manifest as serious social, emotional and behavioural problems (Zeenah, 2009).

A panel of committee members will continue the discussion of how important the role that you, as a professional in early childhood setting, play in promoting the mental health and well-being of all young children and their families. A child’s well-being and healthy brain development is contingent upon infants/young children having health relationships with their caregivers. Other important factors to consider include developing a sense of belonging and valuing and respecting an individual or family’s culture and beliefs.

We hope that you will be part of the conversation!
